Chiropractic Founder's Day is celebrated on September 18th to commemorate the day in 1895 when Daniel David Palmer (D.D. Palmer) performed the first chiropractic adjustment.    Here are some fun facts about the history of chiropractic and [Chiropractic Founder's Day](https://nationaltoday.com/chiropractic-founders-day/):    - DD Palmer performed the first chiropractic adjustment on Harvey Lillard, a janitor in Davenport, Iowa, who had lost most of his hearing 17 years earlier.  - Palmer's goal was to realign Lillard's misaligned vertebra, and Lillard's hearing returned after the adjustment.  - Lillard, experienced immediate relief from a long-standing hearing issue following the adjustment, which Palmer believed demonstrated the potential of spinal adjustments. - The Palmer School of Chiropractic was established in 1897 in Davenport Iowa by D.D. Palmer, marking the beginning of formal chiropractic education. - Chiropractic care is now a well-established field, recognized for its emphasis on spinal health and its role in holistic and preventative healthcare. - Chiropractic Founders Day is often marked by events and activities within the chiropractic community to promote awareness and celebrate the contributions of chiropractic care to healthcare.   This Wednesday, join Dr. Oberstein for a sweet celebration in Sid Square where we will be serving coffee and birthday cake at 12 PM on the foundational day of our profession!
