  • January 24, 2025

Life West Nebraska Celebrates Students Who Give, Do, Love, and Serve

At Life West Nebraska, our Student Council has established a heartwarming tradition of recognizing students who exemplify the college’s core values: Give, Do, Love, and Serve. This is an extension of what the college does with it's employees quarterly.  Each quarter, the Student Council selects nominees for these awards, celebrating individuals who go above and beyond to uplift the campus community. These students are the heart of Life West, embodying the essence of chiropractic values in their daily actions.  Vote for this Quarter here!

Here’s a look at last quarter’s honorees, as shared by their classmates:

GIVE

“One who gives for the sake of giving, expecting nothing in return.”

Nominee: Emily Kennedy
Emily’s classmates couldn’t say enough about her generosity. Her dedication to helping others succeed is evident in everything she does. Long before becoming a campus tutor, Emily selflessly shared her study materials—quizlets, guides, and worksheets—ensuring her peers had the resources they needed to thrive. Even now, as a tutor, she continues to go the extra mile, giving her time and knowledge to anyone in need.

Her classmates say it best:

  • “Emily wants everyone to succeed and has such a gift in her ability to teach others.”
  • “She is the hardest worker I know and deserves this recognition for giving her all to her peers.”

DO

“One who excels at the art of doing, making positive things happen from a place of caring and humility.”

Nominee: Luke Sartori
Luke’s determination and positive energy have inspired his classmates throughout the quarter. Whether motivating others or organizing campus events, Luke leads by example. As Vice President of the Student Council, he spearheaded Life West Nebraska’s first-ever Golf Tournament, which was a resounding success. His initiative and hard work brought the campus community together in a meaningful and memorable way.

One classmate shared:

  • “Luke is always uplifting and has a positive mindset, even during tough times. He took the initiative to make our golf tournament happen, and it was amazing!”

LOVE

“One who loves openly from a place of joy and abundance.”

Nominee: Steph Clarke
Steph is affectionately referred to as the “class mom” by her peers—a testament to her nurturing and selfless nature. Whether checking in on sick classmates or providing homeopathic remedies, Steph shows her love through small acts of kindness that make a big impact. As Student Council President, she leads with grace, always putting the needs of others before her own.

Her classmates shared:

  • “Steph is one of the most selfless individuals I know. She is always thinking of others and ensuring everyone feels cared for and supported.”

SERVE

“One who goes beyond the usual acts of kindness and responds from a place of deep gratitude and respect for others’ humanity.”

Nominee: Antonio Lopez
Antonio is a shining example of what it means to serve. From assisting classmates in the TTC during lunch breaks to sharing his vast library of study materials, Antonio consistently puts the needs of others first. Whether it’s practicing ortho tests for the hundredth time or creating quizlets that save the day, his peers know they can always count on him.

His classmates’ words speak volumes:

  • “Antonio is always going the extra mile to help classmates succeed. His commitment is commendable, and he does it all without expecting anything in return.”
  • “We all pitch in, but Antonio ALWAYS gets stuff done. Without him, many of us would be lost!”

Celebrating a Culture of Care

The Give, Do, Love, Serve Awards highlight the incredible sense of community at Life West Nebraska. These students remind us of the power of generosity, hard work, compassion, and selfless service. Congratulations to all the nominees—you are what makes Life West truly special!

If you know someone deserving of this quarter’s awards, don’t hesitate to nominate them and share how they’re making a difference. Together, we continue to build a campus culture rooted in connection, kindness, and excellence.
