After nearly a year and a half of planning, we are proud to announce that Life West interns will be providing chiropractic care to students attending California State University East Bay (CSUEB) at their campus Health Center under the supervision of Life West faculty. This pivotal venture is the first of its kind for Life West - a collaborative effort to provide chiropractic care in an integrated setting as part of the clinical experience, earning credits toward preceptorship eligibility and clinical requirements for graduation. It's also the first time that CSUEB is including chiropractic care as an offered service at their campus Health Center, and Life West is thrilled to be providing that care.
Many interns applied to participate, and 4 were selected embark on this journey. Health Center faculty chiropractors, Drs. Susan Goodwin and Paula Murillo, will oversee a rotating schedule of interns and patient care every Friday at the CSUEB Health Center through the end of the year. CSUEB students will be scheduled; interns will conduct exams, create care plans and provide chiropractic care to the patients. In turn, interns will receive managed case, exam and adjusting credit for the care they provide.
Over the course of time the goal is to expand the chiropractic services to offer care more days of the week and involve more interns. For now, we're excited to build the chiropractic practice at CSUEB from the ground up.
