This quarter, two interns that started their clinical journey in Hayward have uprooted their lives to take over and manage all of the patient care at the Bellevue Life West Health Center.
Since they only have classes online, these adventurous interns are able to continue earning their eligibility requirements for preceptorship in Bellevue at the Health Center there, instead of remaining in Hayward like most interns. There in Bellevue, it's just the two of them, taking care of all of the student patients, including the incoming Q1 students, as well as all of the outpatients that have started care over the course of the past year. Additionally, they'll be assisting Dr. Rivera with implementation and execution of a grassroots marketing plan to build the outpatient practice in Bellevue. These interns have the unique experience of managing a great number of cases and amount of patient care, in addition to training Dr. Rivera as a mentor! Bellevue's first cohort of students will be taking the clinic entrance practical exam in SU25, so these two interns are playing a vital role in preparing Dr. Rivera to manage interns, as well as giving Bellevue students a look into what their future holds. Wishing them the best of luck as they get started in Bellevue!
