Welcome back Nebraska to Winter Quarter

  • January 17, 2026

Week 1 of the quarter at Life West Nebraska is officially underway, and the energy on campus is unmistakable. From the return of familiar faces to the excitement of new students settling in, the start of a new quarter always brings a renewed sense of purpose—and this week delivered a few memorable moments already.

One of the most heartwarming highlights came courtesy of our students who recently relocated from the South and experienced their very first Midwest snowfall. Watching snowflakes fall for the first time turned an ordinary afternoon into something magical. There was laughter, wide-eyed wonder, and a reminder of how special it is to experience something completely new. These moments—small yet meaningful—are part of what makes the Life West Nebraska community so unique.

As we move further into the quarter, there is much to look forward to. In just a few short weeks, our community will come together for Nexus, Life West’s premier seminar event. Nexus offers an exceptional lineup of speakers and an opportunity to engage with the profession on a deeper level through education, connection, and inspiration. Students are encouraged to explore the full speaker lineup and event details at nexus.lifewest.edu.

In addition to Nexus, we are excited to host in-person seminars on campus this quarter, at our weekly Friday student seminars. This quarter’s speakers include:
    •    Dr. Ben Tapper - local Nebraska chiropractor named in the disinformation dozen
    •    Dr. Bill Ormstom - doctor of vetrinary medicine
    •    Dr. Cassandra Thielen - local Omaha DC that specializes in both human and four legged adjustments
    •    Dr. Laura Meredith & sister faculty member, Dr. Marie Miller - business partners sharing their family passion

These seminars provide invaluable opportunities for students to learn from experienced doctors, ask questions, and continue building their professional identity beyond the classroom.

Week 1 has set the tone for a quarter filled with growth, connection, and memorable experiences—whether it’s a first snowfall or a powerful seminar that sparks new insight. We look forward to everything ahead and are excited to continue the journey together at Life West Nebraska
