On Friday, February 20th, our Life West community had the privilege of volunteering at the Alameda County Community Food Bank for our quarterly Community Service Day — a powerful reminder of what it truly means to serve. From the moment we stepped into the warehouse, our team rolled up their sleeves to sort, inspect, and pack food for families across our local community. In just a few short hours, our collective efforts helped contribute to the creation of 26,019 meals for individuals and families facing food insecurity — representing not just meals, but relief, dignity, and hope for our neighbors.
At Life West, our core values — give. do. love. serve. — guide everything we do, and this event was a meaningful expression of each, especially serve. Serving means showing up with intention and putting our values into action to uplift others. On this day, our faculty, staff, and students embodied that commitment wholeheartedly, demonstrating that service isn’t just something we talk about — it’s who we are.
We’re already looking forward to the next opportunity to give back. 💙
