Commencement Timing: Administration has been working with the Student Life Office to survey eligible students on options for the June Commencement. The results of the survey are as follows:
- 58.3% have chosen to hold the ceremony on-campus some time in summer quarter
- 31.9% chose a December combined ceremony
- 9.7% chose a virtual ceremony on June 12th
Because of the student preference as well as current local and state regulations on social distancing, June Commencement is being postponed and rescheduled.
We will be planning to hold the ceremony on-campus in the latter part of summer quarter. We do not have a firm date at this time. The Student Life Office is working with senior class representatives to provide input into this decision. We must also consider the timing determined by state and local orders around the Shelter in Place. As we look for dates in the summer quarter, we will be providing students with schedule conflicts an option to walk in the December Commencement. A final determination will be made as soon as possible.
