The coronavirus has had a lot of attention in the media. This is natural and expected. Life West administration wants to inform our community that to date there are no cases in Alameda County and we are considered to be in a low risk area.
The steps each of us should take around campus and especially in the Health Center is to be sure we are employing standard hygiene practices including washing hands and ensuring that your mouth and nose are covered when sneezing and coughing. Also important, if you are showing signs or symptoms of the cold or flu, take proper precautions, and if you have a fever do not come to school or work, or to the Health Center if you are taking care of patients.
While we are not in a high risk area, we do want to be careful and responsible. If you have concerns, you can address these to the Health Center Administration doctors (Dr. Donaldson, Dr. Warnock, Dr. Chester).
