Life West Campus Operations Coronavirus Update

Alameda County has announced that only essential businesses can stay open from midnight tonight. The college will therefore close by the end of the day. We will advise you once we hear from the authorities when we can reopen.

All staff who possess the capability and have approval from their managers to work from home can utilize G-Suite applications, Canvas, remote access, telephone, text, etc. We are sending separate instructions to everyone on how to work from home. Dr. Bogatski will discuss with all managers their arrangements for their departments (abogatski@lifewest.edu).

Staff who are not able to work remotely, after discussion with their manager are encouraged to apply immediately for Unemployment Benefits through the State of California, Employment Development Department. To support employees during this time, Life West will partner with you to supplement any wage loss to ensure employees are paid up to 100% of wages. We will work individually with employees to answer questions and ensure a solid plan is in place. ACCESS TO CAMPUS

Access to campus will be restricted to security, facilities and other essential requirements on a case-by-case basis as approved by Dr. Bogatski.

FACULTY, FINALS, CLASSES

All faculty should continue to upload teaching and testing materials, as agreed in today’s meeting. Students will be informed of the details for Winter online testing and Spring classes in a separate email.

HEALTH CENTER

The Health Center is considered exempt in the order to shelter in place. The Health Center will put out a notice within the next 48 hours regarding reopening and our processes to ensure the safety of employees and interns.
