The Gladiators Hockey team started the new summer season strongly, on 7/20, with a comprehensive 6-4 win over the Scorpions in the San Jose Sharks Ice League.
Led by the world-class offensive player and LCCW staff member, Marc “Iceman” Martin, the young Life West team got off to a flying start and led 3-0 with goals to the Iceman (#77), Matt Queiroga (#93), and Ben Murphy (#63), all before the opposition had time to lace their skates.
A further two goals to Martin and Murphy created a 5-0 scoreline before the Scorpions netted three goals late in the period.
A final goal to Captain Fraser Oliver secured the win before the Scorpions placed a late consolation goal to give the score some respectability.
An outstanding effort from the Life West Gladiators, who were up against a tough opponent and were down a line of players due to the recent return from COVID return to play restrictions.
