Taskforce Communication: July 24, 2020

Life Chiropractic College West - Northern California

Thank you everyone for your continued hard work in making the Summer Quarter a reality. As we continue to try and move our students through this quarter, the Task Force wanted to take the time to point out the need to follow the COVID-19 Safety and Illness Response Plan and what to do in case of an exposure.

What do I do if I learn someone I have been in contact with has tested positive for COVID-19?

1) Contact your immediate supervisor and Tarsha Addison if you are an employee.

2) Contact David Straub if you are a student.

3) Stay home and begin to self-isolate.

4) Contact your primary physician for guidance.

5) If it is determined that you indeed were in a Contact situation that qualifies for the infectious transfer of COVID-19, let your primary physician know and get tested.

6) Follow the directions provided by your physician.

7) If no guidelines are provided by your physician, you may return to campus only if you are showing no symptoms for three days or more and have a documented negative result from a COVID-19 testing center.

8) Please do not share private health information of others outside of direct supervisor, Tarsha Addison, or David Straub, as this is an ADA and HIPPA violation.

What do I do if I test positive for COVID-19 myself?

1) Contact your immediate supervisor and Tarsha Addison if you are an employee.

2) Contact David Straub if you are a student.

3) Stay in self-isolation. If you have not started, begin self-isolation immediately.

4) If you have not already contacted your personal physician, do so and follow the guidelines put forth by your doctor.

5) If your physician does not give you guidelines, on the 10th day of the self-isolation, assess if you have been symptom-free for three days. If so, you may self-release and return to campus on day 11. If not, continue to self-isolate. Alternatively, you may return to campus once you have a documented negative test result after three days of no symptoms.

The safety and well being of everyone is our primary concern, and we hope that everyone continues to have a safe and healthy summer quarter. As always, stay safe and up to date by checking the Covid-19 Campus Update page and checking your email daily for updates. If you have any questions or feedback you would like to share, please email us at taskforce@lifewest.edu.
