Bio: Mikaela carries palpable passion, calm intelligence, and steadfast leadership, on the Life West campus and in all areas of her life. She’s vibrant, collected, and always available to support her community. Her grounded focus was honed on the basketball court, as she’s played competitively for 25 years. Basketball brought Mikaela around the world, playing at the collegiate level in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, then to a division 1 league in Brčko, Bosnia, and back to the states to compete in semi professional leagues in Las Vegas, Nevada as well as Oakland, California. Her athleticism and mental acuity served her well on the court and continues to serve her daily.
After acquiring her undergraduate degree, Mikaela got certified as a personal trainer and began training and coaching professionally in Las Vegas, Nevada. As a personal trainer she is inspired by athletes striving to perform at their best, no matter the sport or level of competition. She opened her business, METAFit (Modern Elite Training & Athletics), with the desire to drive others to be their best selves, on and off the court.
While coaching in Nevada, Mikaela got connected with a basketball coach in need of a strength and conditioning counterpart. This connection would beautifully alter her trajectory. Head basketball coach, Coach Littlefield, was also a renowned Doctor of Chiropractic, and within mere months of working together he began to envision and encourage the future Dr. Stanton. Dr. Littlefield was lit up by Mikaela’s passion to serve and urged her to enroll at Life West to pursue chiropractic so that her talent and care could reach far more than just athletes.
During her time at Life West, Mikaela has locked in! Engaging with the Doctors and academic material with intention, she’s run the basketball club, started The Chiro League, and served with ferocity in the student clinic all while opening and running the Hayward branch of her METAFit gym. She is a great adjuster and highly knowledgeable in Chiropractic Biophysics. After attending the CBP level one certification training last school break, Mikaela is looking forward to growing her experience while on preceptor and in practice. Chiropractic Biophysics and powerful yet precise adjustments blend perfectly with her kinesthetic expertise, and we can’t wait to see the impact Mikaela will continue to have on the communities she serves.
