Health Center & TTC Get Technology Upgrades!

  • February 6, 2025

New Tech Alert: A huge thank you to Kinetisense and CLA for leveling up with us to offer the absolute best that technology has to offer to Life West students, interns and patients!

Life West is committed to using technology and instrumentation to substantiate the efficacy of chiropractic care. Students are introduced to various types of technology and instrumentation used to assess patients' needs for and response to chiropractic early in the Clinically Inspired Learning curriculum, in the Technology Training Center (TTC) on campus. Throughout CIL use of these tools and concepts are reinforced and by the time students are interns in the Health Center, they're prepared to utilize this technology and instrumentation for actual patient care. The college is grateful for collaborative partnerships from several companies to ensure that the TTC and Health Center have all the hardware, software and support needed to execute these aspects of the CIL curriculum.  Recently, two companies have recommitted to these partnerships, providing important upgrades to the TTC and Health Center to support the use of technology and instrumentation in patient care.

Kinetisense, a Canadian company out of Alberta, is revolutionizing movement assessment with 3D motion capture. Their easy-to-use iPad-based software allows for 3D postural and joint motion assessment, making easy and effective work of documenting objective initial and progress assessment. The TTCs and Health Centers on both the Hayward and Bellevue campuses are fully equipped with their amazing tools, resources and support!

CLA, a longstanding supporter of the college, has agreed to upgrade the INSiGHT equipment in the Hayward Health Center to match what's in the Hayward  TTC, and what's on the Bellevue campus, so that what's taught and learned in the TTC is easily implemented in the Health Center across the board. INSiGHT's neuroTECH is made up of HRV, sEMG and thermography, each demonstrating different components of neuropathophysiology and subluxation. As such, it's easy for interns to determine someone's need for chiropractic care, as well as their response to it.

A huge thank you to Kinetisense and CLA for leveling up with us to offer the absolute best that technology has to offer to Life West students, interns and patients!
