Hayward Campus Safety & Security Update: Proactive Steps to Ensure a Safe Environment at Life Chiropractic College West

Ensuring the safety and security of our students, faculty, and staff at Life Chiropractic College West is a priority that we all share. As a community, we have the power to foster a secure campus atmosphere through awareness, cooperation, and proactive behaviors. Here are several initiatives and safety measures each of us can adopt to contribute to our collective security:

All Visitors MUST Check In: With the new Verkada Guest Maintenance software in use, please make sure all visitors are directed to the Main Entrance, located on Industrial Ave, where they will be expected to register as a guest on campus. This process is aimed at protecting our campus community from those people do not need to be on campus.

Stay Alert and Informed: Always be aware of your surroundings and any unusual activities. Make sure to sign up for the campus alert system, OMNILERT, to receive real-time notifications about safety concerns and updates directly to your phone or email.

Secure Personal Belongings: Theft is a common campus crime. Always secure your personal belongings, such as backpacks, laptops, and mobile phones, especially in public areas. Utilize lockers and never leave items unattended.

Security

Report Suspicious Activities: If you see something, say something. Reporting suspicious behavior or activities immediately can prevent potential security threats. Familiarize yourself with the locations of emergency phones and the contact details for campus security.

Be Mindful of Tailgaters: As you enter campus access doors, be mindful of who is entering doors behind you. If you do not recognize any member, it is ok to ask to see an ID badge. If that person(s) is a visitor, direct the individual or group to the Main Reception Area at the front entrance of the building. This is the same entrance used for the Health Clinic.

By taking these simple, yet effective steps, each member of the Life Chiropractic College West Hayward Campus community can contribute to a safer campus. Let's work together to ensure our college remains a secure and welcoming environment for everyone. Remember, campus safety is a shared responsibility, and your actions make a difference!
