Last week, the Life West Bellevue campus celebrated another successful series of events hosted by the Employee Activity Committee, creating opportunities for faculty and staff to connect, unwind, and enjoy time together outside the usual day-to-day routine.
The week began with a special nod to Teacher Appreciation Day, recognizing the faculty who dedicate their time, energy, and expertise to supporting student success. Faculty members were surprised with small appreciation gift bags that included snacks, sticky notes, motivational quote pens, and reusable cups — a simple but thoughtful way to acknowledge their ongoing commitment to the campus community.
Midweek brought one of the campus’s favorite traditions: the quarterly faculty and staff potluck. Once each quarter, the Nebraska campus team gathers to share a meal and strengthen community through food and conversation. This quarter’s theme featured picnic sides, with faculty and staff bringing a variety of favorite dishes to complement the main entrée — fried chicken. The event continues to be a fun way to celebrate teamwork and enjoy a break together during the quarter.
The week wrapped up with a creative Mother’s Day-themed event, where faculty and staff participated in a flower arranging activity. The event gave everyone a chance to tap into their inner florist, build custom arrangements, and enjoy a hands-on activity that brought plenty of smiles and creativity to the close of the week.
The Employee Activity Committee continues to create meaningful opportunities that foster connection and campus culture at Life West Bellevue. Whether through appreciation events, shared meals, or creative gatherings, these moments help strengthen the community that supports both students and one another each day.
