Happy June! This week’s Book to Know is Black Health by Keisha Ray! 😊
📖 A Book to Know: Black Health: The Social, Political, and Cultural Determinants of Black People's Health by Keisha Ray
This book strives “to acknowledge that race has always been a powerful social category that gives access to the resources we need for health and wellbeing to some people, while withholding them from other people” No community has experienced this harder than Black Americans. These systemic inequities must be acknowledged, especially by chiropractors and other health care professionals. Even beyond the month of June and Juneteeth, Black healthcare and Black voices should always be amplified.
We encourage all students and faculty to explore this book, along with the rest of our ✨DEI textbook collection✨, to enrich your understanding of diversity in chiropractic practice.
